Aaron S. Ricucci-Hill (1992) hails from Troy, Missouri. He graduated with his BA in Music Composition from the Conservatory of Music at UMKC, returning for his master's degree in 2020. His mentors have included Yotam Haber, Chen Yi, Mara Gibson, and Reynold Simpson.
Mr. Ricucci-Hill has worked with the St. Charles Comm. College Symphony and the SCC Opera Workshop (2013/2014), the UMKC Dance department (2015, 2018), and the Lyric Opera of Kansas City in their Words + Music collaboration project (2015-’17). His work has been played both nationally and internationally, notably the Zodiac Music Academy and Festival (Valdeblore, France, 2016), and the Oregon Bach Festival Composers Symposium (2018). Ricucci-Hill's trio, Forest Rituals, won third place and publication in the Abundant Silence Composition Competition (2017) In 2020, he was named composer-in-residence of the Plaza Winds Quintet.
Ricucci-Hill has collaborated with BrainFreeze productions (2017, '18) on the 48 Hour Film Project (St. Louis). in addition to Shipslog (2019), which won the St. Louis Sci-Fi & Fantasy Short Film Festival.
Further, Mr. Ricucci-Hill has served as Officer of Media and Promotions for the UMKC Composer’s Guild in the ’16-’17 school year. He also sat on the Board of Directors for the Gateway Festival Orchestra of St. Louis for three seasons. Mr. Ricucci-Hill is also an alumnus of Phi Mu Alpha-Pi Zeta chapter.

Artistic Statement
As an open and proud queer creator, I strive, through music, to find ways to express the beauty and power inherent in my identity. Whether through my own work or the promotion of work by other queer artists, it is tantamount to promote positive, honest, and powerful images of sexuality and queer people in contemporary life.
